Chef of Month- James Barry, Executive Chef at Galuppi’s
The breathtaking view of the golf course and the welcoming environment are not the only attractions at Galuppi’s in Pompano Beach. The enticing aroma of home cooked meals and warm smile of Executive Chef James Barry also keep regular diners coming back each week.
Chef James Barry serves up homemade breakfast, lunch, dinner and a tasty Sunday Brunch at the local restaurant overlooking the Pompano Beach Greg Norman-designed golf course.
Being in the restaurant business for 8 years cooking in restaurants throughout Pittsburgh and South Florida, James has a culinary instinct and much talent in the kitchen.
“In college, I started working at restaurants and after that, it was over,” said James.
At Galuppi’s, he creates each of his dishes with a special twist and attention to detail. They have new menu items every day- and soon they will be unveiling a new more diverse menu.
“We offer a mix of everything, from Italian to American favorites, Asian influence and more,” he said.
Monday through Friday, you can dine on a hearty lunch for only $5.99. Also, Monday is $10.99 ribs night; Tuesday is $10.99 New York strip steak; and Wednesday is Ahi Tuna night. In addition, every Sunday is In The Biz with 50 percent off for you and one guest on all your drinks and food. Plus, there’s a late night Happy Hour offering Buy 1, Get 1 drinks and half off appetizers, from 9 pm to close each night.
Galuppi’s is also the perfect venue for any special occasion. Weddings, corporate events, birthdays, showers, and any other celebration. They offer catering at these events and will even bring the catered food to you!
Sporting events are also a hit at Galuppi’s, where you and your friends can enjoy some wings and beer at the outside patio bar. They also have an inside bar that boasts 11 X 50 inch plasma high definition TV’s, including a 17 foot definition projector. The outside patio bar has 10 x 52 inch LCD TV’s.
This Valentine’s Day, Chef James will be cooking up a special sweethearts’ menu, including Surf and Turf and other delicacies. In March, Irish cabbage and other favorites, plus live entertainment, fiddlers, Irish step dancers and more will be rockin’ their Saint Patrick’s Day celebration.
What James finds most rewarding about being a chef is: “The satisfaction of seeing someone smile when they have a good meal.”
And he sees his customers’ smiling every day thanks to the welcoming atmosphere. “Galuppi’s is a family owned restaurant that serves the local community and residents. It truly has that family atmosphere, with the owners Pat and Grant, father and son, greeting their customers,” said James.
